Jive [SaaS] Cloud Enterprise Collaboration Social Community Platform
Enterprise-ready and mature.
— Forrester Research Q1 2009
Jive has a large customer base with more than 2,500 customers, including brands like Intel, Kraft Foods, Swiss Re and Nike. They offer a drag-n-drop community platform for brands to use for external marketing and internally focused communities.
In May 2009, Jive launched their cloud offering, JiveExpress, which is getting traction with smaller customers. The Intel, Kraft, Nike, and Swiss Re implementations are not hosted in the cloud. Here is the comparison of Jive to JiveExpress.
Jive acquired Filtrbox to let their clients track what people are saying about them across the Web and then have integrated tools to take action about those conversations.
Gartner thinks Jive is the clear independent leader in the cloud enterprise collaboration space, ahead of rivals Telligent, OpenText, Mindtouch and SocialText. Is their offering better than the office collaboration suites from Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, and IBM? ...or is it complimentary since Jive tries to differentiate itself by selling a product that works with everything else?
Jive's 2009 revenue grew 85 percent over the year before and Jive was cash-flow positive.
The entire enterprise collaboration space saw traffic levels drop in 2H 2009. Will it continue or rebound?
