Frequently Asked Questions
1. How come your logo doesn't look more like a cloud in the sky?
Our logo represents a client company (the center circle) and its ecosystem of partners. A company with a good cloud computing strategy will focus on core competencies while sourcing everything else from partners. cloudTP is represented as one of those partners, providing deep expertise in evolving to new technology.
2. Who took the photo on your landing page? What glacier is it?
The photo of the group heading into the clouds was shot by Sebastian Cote on the Perito Moreno glacier, Argentina.
3. Is there a certain type of application that should be migrated to cloud computing?
Yes. There are quick wins for migrating certain types of applications to cloud computing. Our cloud computing strategy service offerings are designed to identify them and create a roadmap for migration/implementation.
4. Do you foresee a day when my data center ceases to exist?
Yes for most small and medium-size enterprises. No for most large enterprises as they will build their own clouds.
5. Does this mean PC’s on professionals desks will disappear?
It depends on the applications needed by the end-user. For example, applications like Powerpoint and complex features of spreadsheets don't work well online. In contrast, users who just read information and send emails don't need PC's.
6. How does cloud computing reliability compare to traditional data center reliability?
Some cloud providers specialize in very high reliability. Amazon is not one of them except for storage.
